Volunteer Opportunities

Because PUUF has limited paid help, Visitors and Friends, as well as our Members are encouraged to get involved in the work of the Fellowship. Service opportunities exist at all levels - from on-going Committee work (see below) to one time events such as fundraisers, our Highway Cleanup or even taking the collection.

Committees

PUUF is a cooperative endeavor, and we need you to help us be successful! By joining one of our committees, you can contribute to the on-going work of the fellowship, make new friends, and feel good about creating liberal religion here in Idaho.

You can help put on Sunday Services through the Worship Committee, ....

Aid for Friends

AFF is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and other supportive services to individuals and families facing Homelessness. You can help. Visit their website at www.aidforfriendspocatello.org
PUUF has an on-going committment to provide dish soap for AFF. There is always a need for: shampoo/conditioner, soap, razors, feminine hygiene products, & toilet paper.

Highway Clean-Up

:) We clean up a two mile stretch of the interstate south of McCammon once or twice a year. If we have enough help, it just takes a couple of hours in the morning and we adjourn to the A&W at McCammon. Contact Mel Nicholls. We will do it again in the spring.

Standing on the Side of Love

Standing on the Side of Love is a public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love's power to stop oppression. It is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association and all are welcomed to join.

WHY
This is a time of great hope and possibility, yet our communities are threatened by the increased prevalence of acts motivated by fear and hate. No one should be dehumanized through acts of exclusion, oppression or violence because of their identities. In public debates over immigration, LGBT rights, and more, religious people stand on the side of love and call for respect, inclusion, and compassion.

HOW
The Standing on the Side of Love campaign elevates compassionate religious voices to influence public attitudes and public policy. Through community activism, social networking, and media outreach, people across the nation are equipped to counter fear and make love real in the world. (Reprinted from the UUA website.)
