Adult Religious Education (ARE) Meetings

Adult Religious Exploration (ARE) meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 4-6pm in the Chapel room of the United Church of Christ building. Exceptions may occur; please check the ARE schedule regularly, announcements in the PUUF monthly newsletter (The Voice), inserts in the Order of Worship, or announcements in the "Faith Page" of the Idaho State Journal.

Come with an open mind that we may explore then discuss religious and spiritual topics, while respecting the inherent worth and dignity of all, in support of each person's individual spiritual quest.

Childcare may be arranged in advance by contacting Irene Nautch 339-0859.

The Chair of ARE is appointed by the PUUF Board of Directors, in accordance with PUUF By Laws.

ARE Meeting Format

Early arrivals may wish to participate in set up for meeting.
Times are approximate.
4:00pm Meeting begins. Welcome!
Chalice lighting and reading
Share/discuss relevant current articles, clippings, or news (radio or TV)where author has invoked the Bible to support their particular cause or perspective.
4:25pm Program/speaker begins
Break
5:45pm Program ends. Q&A, Discussion
5:55pm Extinguish Chalice and closing reading.
6:00pm Goodbyes.

Guidelines for Conduct of ARE Meetings

Because topics explored and discussed may be controversial, to protect the rights of each person in attendance, and to allow each to express their opinions without intimidation, guidelines for Conduct of ARE Meetings have been developed. Participants indicate their agreement by signing the Guidelines.
